Dries Van Noten Vanille Camouflage Reviews

Fragrantica - "Vanille Camouflage, to me, smells like a bundle of fresh cut stems with some added sweetness. It's really interesting that they made a scent that's so realistic, yet still fantastical. At first, the scent is so fresh and green, it almost smells alive. It's like if you mowed the lawn, picked some flowers, and then trimmed some green beans, and the smell is on your hands. As it dries down, the fresh stem scent fades, and the sweet vanilla becomes more present. And that's where it stays for the rest of it's time."

Fragrantica - "I was so excited to receive a decant in the mail today. Within the first few seconds of spraying, it reminded me of leshy stems of Canna lilys, the clean washed roots of certain herbaceous plants, a fleeting whiff of green pepper seeds that's still attached to its vines well before it turns red and "peppery" and the bulb of roses. Somehow, all of this is done with a soft touch, a blended balance. Now I know what people meant when they said it smells green, it is green in the prettiest of ways and not due to any tonic apothecary hints ( I love these as well). A lot of folks mentioned that it takes a while for the primary greens to fade, on me, I can still smell the greens 15 minutes in but boy has that Vanilla blossomed; so much so that it is sweet, like I buried my face in a box of fresh madeleines. I almost want to say it smells sugary sweet. It brings on the best feelings. This is such a lovely composition."

Fragrantica - "This is my favorite of the new releases. Green in the most beautiful way, as it is tempered by the fruit of fig and soft yet substantial florals. This is not a grassy green to my nose rather it is a soft green that melds with the vanilla. It’s fresh and lush. Beautiful. I loved it in all its phases with the beginning being my favorite as you catch distinctly all the facets of the scent. By the end you still feel the dimensions but they’ve melded together in a soft, somewhat green vanilla. I love it.:

Fragrantica - "Wow does this open up green! Guerlain Angelique Noire, Celine Dans Paris, Chloe Vanille Planifolia, any other green vanilla you can think of- none of them come close. It is hyper realistic and, in my opinion, very beautiful. After about 10 or so minutes the overwhelmingly green aspects calm down and the vanilla is most prominent. I do continue to get a greenness in the background, especially if I move a hand or my nose comes close to any areas I spray directly. The majority of the time wearing this I got a woody powdery vanilla with a green touch. I would say this is totally unisex, not a gourmand vanilla but it does have a sweetness to it."
