Meh….
Ok scent - but I’m not getting anything even close to marine notes. On me, this is a slightly sweet and coconut fragrance. It’s ok, but if I’m in the mood for something coconutty, I’d rather wear Ester Lauder Bronz Goddess.
Ellis Brooklyn Salt was launched in 2020, a tropical scent that is all salty skin and sun. It is inspired by a recent memory of a sun-dappled day by the sea. "The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea. " -Isak Dinesen (Karen Blixen), author. It has notes of ylang, violet leaves, tiare, magnolia, ambergris, musk and sandalwood. It is an eau de parfum, edp.
This fragrance is also vegan and PETA-certified cruelty-free.
Reviews of Ellis Brooklyn Salt
From Colognoisseur: "When I see a perfume called Salt, I am expecting aquatic. When I sprayed it the first time, I was surprised at the white flowers which came first. Tiare and magnolia are given support through ylang-ylang. A bit of violet leaf gives a hint of green. The white flowers sparkle while the ylang-ylang adds a tropical fruit undertone as banana and coconut seem to come from it. It ends on a mixture of sandalwood and ambergris capturing the driftwood and brine of my fishing spot."
Fragrantica - "It's the tropical salty musk of my dreams. This has kind of an iso-super quality because it's a skin scent without any note taking over or being too screechy. I can tell it has yellow and white florals but it's not overpowering. There is a salty quality too but I think it's the humid "beach air" kind."
Fragrantica - "This is a soft BEAUTIFUL skin scent. Think evening on the beach. I smell every note, but it is well blended. There is a creaminess to it, but the salt is the star for me."
