Maitre Chausseur was a finalist in the Independent category for the 2017 Art & Olfaction Awards. The Art and Olfaction Awards are presented to just four perfumes and one experimental scent project a year. They are designed to raise public interest and awareness around new developments in independent perfumery. The awards are given to outstanding creators in the categories of independent, artisan and experimental perfume from across the globe. 
 
It evokes the scent of a shoemaker's workshop from the leather used in the construction of the shoe to the coffee the shoemaker drinks while working. It is an aromatic and resinous oriental fragrance featuring notes of elemi, incense, cistus, coriander, calamus, ginger, bellflower, orchid, coffee, vetiver, sandalwood, leather, ambergris and vanilla. Maitre Chausseur is an eau de parfum, edp.

Tools and hides lined up along the cork-clad wall or lying on the wood and steel table, tweezers working strands of leather. Sharp needles, battered molds hold leather prototypes, fabric, rubber, the smell of glue heightens the emotions. Cardboard boxes and cotton sacks, brushes and wax for polishing, skillful hands for the ultimate artist’s touch.
