Vetiver Extraordinaire
Thrilled with my purchases from Surrender to Chance! Tremendous selection and exceptional customer service from purchase to delivery. Very fast shipping as well. My first venture into vetiver as I wanted to understand this ingredient and note. Did not know what to expect and this did surprise and take me some time to conceptualize as it's a scent like no other. It has a dried grassy scent that I would see as green and a bit smoky. In the taste category maybe I might put this in the sour, bitter profile, possibly like dried Persian limes. There is sweetness and saltiness too though. There are some similarities to orris root. Is it spicy? No, Is it floral no. It's rooty and a tad earthy, mineral-like. There is a powderyness which could be a musk or resin ingredient instead of vetiver, I don't know. It's entirely unique. The heart of this smell is not something I feel comfortable dwelling in yet. However, as I wear it, I catch random whiffs of it in the air and when it's airbound, it has an entirely different scent, which is soft, sweet, fluffy and inexplicably familiar in a comforting way. An angelic scent of fresh air on a windy day, ozone from nearby rain, grass waving in the breeze with clouds racing by overhead.
