Gucci Flora Gorgeous Magnolia was launched in 2023, created by Daphne Bugey and Marie Salamagne. Part of the Gucci Garden FLoral Fantasy collection, taking its inspiration from the magnolia, it has notes of dewberry, coconut, magnolia, jasmine sambac, clary sage, musk, patchouli and blonde woods.
From the brand -
"Taking inspiration from free-spirited women, the scent is built around Magnolia Alba, an ancient and rare plant that requires a specific harvest and careful distillation process. A clary sage-like edge balances its fruity, floral sweetness to reflect an intuitive nature. The resulting Magnolia Essence exudes cheerfulness and a luminous noble spirit.
To enhance the sweetness of the Magnolia Essence, a Dewberries Accord is added for a fruity, juicy dimension, striking a balance between freshness and sensuality. Parchoul Essence is then used to around the scent. The perfumers capture the plant's intense woodiness from Indonesia's best-quality Patchoull, creating a subtly earthy and leathery aroma.
Gucci Flora Gorgeous Magnolia also features Blond Woods which provides a gentle, sensual touch, while Coconut Accord delivers an irresistible vanilla freshness that is both smooth and addictive. Finally, the Jasmine Sambac Absolute lends a green intensity and warmth that comes together with a mellowing trail of Musk."
Gucci Flora Gorgeous Magnolia is an eau de parfum, edp.
Fragrantica - "This new Gucci Flora Gorgeous Magnolia is alllla DAT! If you didn't like the previous flankers, get your nose on this anyway. This is a tropical fruity floral explosion that lasts over 12 hours on the skin. You can go to dinner, be his dessert, and wake up the next morning still smelling like, "Take me now!" with no reapplication! If you hate patchouli like me, dont worry its only in the mid for a little while. Its not a dirty patchouli. Its just sharp for a little while."
Fragrantica - "As for the notes, it’s a berry coconut with the same patchouli blend as the other flankers. The dry down is beautiful and creamy, I get vanilla, but perhaps it’s the blonde woods. I like it!"
Fragrantica - "This perfume is very much the more warm berry, sultry older sister of Gorgeous Gardenia. Gorgeous Jasmine really stands out on its own to me, but Gorgeous Magnolia feels very much in line with Gorgeous Gardenia-- I'd say its really like a "noir" or nighttime version of Gorgeous Gardenia in that the notes are very much alike. Gorgeous Magnolia starts with a sparking berry top, with a creamy soapy white floral center, and a deeper, skin-like patchouli/musk in the base. Gorgeous Gardenia is more fresh and clean whereas Gorgeous Magnolia is deeper, a bit more like sweet skin musk, and more berry-forward. The DNA is clearly from this line, but since it's technically a chypre, it does remind me SLIGHTLY of Fenty perfume. It is in no way a direct dupe, but the blueberry/magnolia/patchouli really is similar (though Fenty is extremely complex and much more multifaceted- the citrus and rose really change the game)."
Fragrantica - "It is a gorgeous creamy floral with a woody depth of patchouli! Love the dewberry, as it smells fruity like a black or red currant. The magnolia heart is so very creamy. The creaminess is similar to that of gorgeous gardenia. The number one observation, though, is that this smells very smooth and more earthy than the rest of the line. It is very well blended. I have a feeling this will smell the same on skin for a number of hours. I will update if need be, but if you like the original gorgeous gardenia, you will also love this one because they have a similar creaminess."
