Guerlain Oud Khol is part of Guerlain's Shades of Oud series in the L'Art et la Matiere collection. Created by Thierry Wasser and launched fall of 2022, a smoky oud plunged into darkness. Notes of oud, aldehydes, praline, moss.
From the brand - "A pitch-dark, leather-toned interpretation of oud wood. An olfactory celebration of the colour black, Oud Khôl reveals the most beautiful facets of dark oud. Akin to how a kohl pencil lends purity and intensity to the eye, Guerlain Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser has used oud to attain a hue of absolute black. Magnified by aldehyde enhancers, Oud Khôl stuns with its leathery, charcoal-tinged accord that seems to darken the woody resin even further. A moss accord with glints of carbon and a deliciously unexpected note of caramelised praline add richness to the palette. Here, hypnotic black knows how to tempt desire. Amplified, oud reaches its most absolute form. To compose this scent in the blackest of black, Thierry Wasser has plunged oud into absolute darkness clouded with smoky, mineral notes. This is ultimate olfactory density, almost dizzying in its appeal."
Fragrantica - "An animalic sexy oud with a clean soapy undertone. It is very juxtaposing, you get a clean dirty feel that remains persistent throughout. Incredible!"
Fragrantica - "The opening was like luxury mascara to me, but on the skin it's like a metamorphosis. It just confirms that Guerlain is one of the most interesting houses in terms of transformation. It becomes completely unique. The dark chocolate aspect is there but not that strong on me, it's overall leather, smoky oud and green, earthy moss. Don't be afraid if you don't like aldehydes, Guerlain's aldehydes are quite weak."
Fragrantica - "I bought it while strolling in Paris after my concert and love it ! To me, it's intensely passionate, unique, and extremely feminine. It brings you to another world, perhaps a Medina or a Souk, perhaps Kyiv with its marvelous cuisine, landscapes, and style. It is way more sophisticated than any other perfume of Guerlain and I do own almost all of them."
Still too new for more than a handful of reviews
