Description

Hermes Elixir des Merveilles, an amber wood for women, is a different take on the gorgeous Eau des Merveilles. An enchanting, sparking fragrance for women and not a flower in sight.   Notes of orange peel, vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood, incense and ambergris. This is a more gourmand version that is heavy on the chocolate and orange, but retains much of the original in the base notes.

Reviews of Hermes Elixir des Merveilles

from basenotes - "So with high hopes, and some leftover apprehension, I wore Hermes Elixir des Merveilles. It's a scent of surprising contradictions. Breezy, sticky. Sweet, salty. Soapy, dirty. Feels more like an aura than an afterglow. Comforting in a way I didn't expect, based on previous wearings."

from influenster - "This is my absolute favorite fragrance. It is really potent and smells so different from anything else. A little goes a long way.
Not sure how to describe it but I would recommend trying out a sample somewhere before buying it. Because it is so potent and strong, people could have opposite reactions to it."

from makeupalley - "This is a glorious delight of a fragrance...in fact, I love the entire Merveilles line---and while they are all similar and share family traits, they are all quite different enough from each other to justify owning every one. What makes Elixir special? The peru balsam mixed with caramel, resins and incense. A spicy citrus treat, yet almost a gourmand as it warms on your skin. Rich tonka, vanilla, patchouli and amber ground it--but never in a heavy way."

Bought a sample because my friend wears it and smells amazing, like she just came from the spa. I really don't know how to describe it, a little sharp, bright and dark all at once. Truly a unique fragrance. I love it, probably isn't for everyone, but definitely worth trying

This fragrance has horrible top notes (confusing, I don't know what to compare it to), and then the middle notes are sort of tacky (kind of orange and sandalwood in alternation) but interesting. The dry-down is nice, if a little bit basic. So, this isn't me, but it might be someone else's bag.
