Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache was released in 2013, created by Josh Meyer. Notes of Douglas fir, pine resin, western hemlock, vanilla leaf, strawberry, old growth, mountain fog.
All of the Imaginary Authors have a story that accompanies them. Here is the story of Cape Heartache from the Imaginary Authors website: "Cape Heartache is the lone American contribution to Philip Sava’s wildly popular series of exploration novels. It is based loosely on an expedition he made to the Pacific Northwest as a teenager in 1881 and is generally regarded as the most candid of his works. Revolving around a homestead he built in a coastal grove of old growth trees, the novel documents his romance with a young woman who was a descendent of the Nehalem Indian Tribe. Its themes of leaving the familiar and finding comfort and solace in a new place still resonate today."
Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache is an eau de parfum, edp.
Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache Reviews
Fragrantica - "I imagine myself as a love-lorn main character, standing Cliffside. Bashing waves below me, dark forest behind me, a blue filter casting a dim, cool haze over the whole scene. I feel the heartache, the longing, and the romance of this fragrance while I am smelling it. I love it for that. It challenges what is readily available at the beauty counter and reminds me that perfume IS art."
Fragrantica - "I think this scent is SO beautiful. It opens with really beautiful mix of pines and resin, and follows with a cool strawberry. I honestly think it’s a masterpiece."
Fragrantica - "I don't know how he did it, the strawberry note in this fragrance is so beautiful and authentic. On my skin, the strawberry was the most prominent note and has lasted for the life of the fragrance. The fir and pine support it and woods and vanilla blend into it, so that it really just smells as though you're strolling through a woody area with wild strawberries everywhere around you."
