Initio Parfums Oud for Happiness is from the Initio Parfums Prive French perfume company using perfumers like Alexandra Kosinski, Pierre-Constantin Guéros, Maurice Roucel, Alberto Morillas, Guillaume Flavigny and Hamid Merati-Kashani. Inspired by the idea that scent can make you happy, it has notes of bergamot, ginger, licorice, vanilla, cedarwood, Indian oud and musk.
Fragrantica - "Initially, I get ginger nut biscuits, sweet and spicy with a touch of vanilla. There's definitely a hint of a really round and soft liquorice root in the opening too. After about half an hour the ginger biscuit nuance is still there, but it's softened as a natural, slightly dirty, oud comes through. The oud here is very subtle, and if you don't know what you're looking for, you could easily miss it. As it drifts into the dry down, the cedar comes to the forefront, backed up by the ever-present yet subtle liquorice root and sweetly spiced ginger, I'm left with a really well blended scent, that'll be ideal for the cooler months. "
Fragrantica - "The opening is bright and crisp ginger and liquorice and the dry down is a nice smooth vanilla and musk. It’s a compliment getter for sure my wife loves it probably because the vanilla is quite sweet."
Fragrantica - "Opens with a sweet smooth ginger. Amazing... the vanilla makes the fragrance sweet, its not a cookie spice, its a sweet spice. Also for the oud, it is a soft oud not a heavy, dark oud like in Oud for Greatness which I appreciate because it makes this fragrance more versatile than the other in terms of weather and time of year you can wear. There is a greeness around it as well that gives it that all year round type of wear."
