Lovely, comforting smell
Kai is not a complicated perfume, but, I have found it comforting and enjoyable to wear. The gardenia is not overly strong, and there is a nice heart of green. It softens to a light floral musk.
Kai EDP was released in 199, created by Gaye Straza. It was originally made to be solde at Gaye Straza Rappaport's fashion boutique in Malibu, California. It is an intoxicating blend of gardenia and white exotic flowers that will transport you to your own tropical island. Kai is an eau de parfum, edp.
Fragrantica - "The perfume oil gives me the sense of waking at dawn and throwing open french doors to let in the scent of early-morning gardenias -- blooms furling closed, their scent lifting off into bright sunlight filtering through mock orange trees. It's a light, bright, demure gardenia - not the delicious, luscious, almost fleshy scent that holds my heart and soul, but the indelible memory the morning after of a florid, glorious night."
Fragrantica - "A beautiful tropical gardenia! It's the type of scent where I'll get a whiff of my clothes the day after wearing and just inhale how good it smells."
Fragrantica - "Man, this is a really good spring flower bouquet. I get an opening of lilac with some jasmine that somehow manages to paint the portrait of a gardenia soliflore decently well. The indole sits at the bottom of the sniff rather than up-front."

After an initial blast of gardenia, Kai does not smell much of Hawaii as it does of cheap soap, at least on my skin. Can't see a reason not to wear AG songes intead!
