Tinharé is part of Le Couvent des Minimes' Remarquables collection. Now available in the United States, Le Couvent is under the Direction of Olfactory Creation of Jean-Claude Ellena, considered one of the greatest perfumers in the world. Their fragrances are vegan, contain no parabens, PEG, phthalates, silicones, sulfates and are up to 99% natural.
There has been a lot of talk that Tinharé is the softer, more subtle little sister to MFK Baccarat Rouge 540. Instead of the strawberry candy floss and saffron, Tinharé has coconutty vanilla and a drier, woodsier base which makes it the ultimate skin scent. It's cozy comfort comes from a swirl of fluffy musks whipped with sweet jasmine, vanilla and mandarin into a diaphanous blur--a cloud of gently creamy, white notes that simply smells amazing – clean, musky and slightly sweet.
From Le Couvent's website: "Tinharé, a souvenir of a trip to the Brazilian islands, where time is suspended and resonates with the rhythm of percussions as a vibrating and sweet olfactory stopover. At the top, the sweetness of juicy and gourmand red mandarin gives way to a tender and feminine heart. Then on a vanilla background, Tinharé, sensual and addictive, expresses an intoxicating and addictive trail." A woody amber fragrance with sweet scents of mandarin orange and vanilla wood that tells about the sweet tropical languor of the Bahia Islands. "Tinharé reminds me of the warm sand and nonchalant atmosphere of the sumptuous tropical islands." - Éric Fracapane, perfumer for Couvent des Minimes.
Tinharé features notes of red mandarin, white wood, jasmine and vanilla absolute. It is an eau de parfum edp.
LE COUVENT DE MINIMES TINHARE REVIEWS
Fragrantica: My daughter (11 y.o.) when smelling this one said: this is what I believe Paris smells like. She’s never been there, but I know exactly what she means.. its classy, sweet, sexy… not a girls scent, but a womans.. my favourite, without a doubt.
Fragrantica: Finally, a decent dupe for BR540. I've been trying Her, Cloud and then stumbled upon this. Smelled it in the stores and was blown away by how similar the smell was. I think Le Couvent really hit the note with the unisex front. The other "dupes" smells too feminine and sweet. Tinharé was stuck in my mind for days.
Fragrantica: It is definitely quite similar to BR540. However it doesn't have such a beast mode as BR540 has. It stays closer to the skin, last shorter and isn't so loud. The opening is not that sweet, it's kind of more complex. The similarities are much more prominent in the drydown, but the medicinal smell some people detect in BR540 is not that pronounced if ever. I have to say I might even prefer it, especially when I feel that BR540 is too much and I want something a bit more subtle.
Fragrantica: All I know is that I find this to be a very warm, cozy and pleasant fragrance. Slightly woody, slightly sweet, and with a very inviting vanilla note. Basically everything I enjoy in a fragrance. The only thing holding me back from getting this for myself is that I feel like this definitely leans feminine. If I met a woman who was wearing this I would think that she smelled really nice and cozy, in a slightly classy way. In the store where I tried this (and others from the same line), this one was also apparently the favorite of the female store clerk.
