Le Labo AnOther 13

Le Labo AnOther 13 was created in conjunction with AnOther Magazine and is named after the number of ingredients in the fragrance.  launched in 2010 and created by Nathalie Lorson, only 500 bottles of this scent were originally created and were available only at Colette in Paris. When Colette closed, AnOther 13 became part of Le Labo's regular line.

It features notes of ambrox/ambroxan (a warm, musky amber aroma material), apple, pear, green citrus and ambrette. AnOther 13 is an eau de parfum, edp.

From Image - "Since I started wearing this scent, I've had a cabin crew member stop serving to ask what I was wearing, I've had a lovely Penneys employee follow me around the store to ask what it was, and I've had other beauty journalists sniff it out and buy it on my recommendation."

Reddit - "It’s musky, but in the way that clean skin in clean sheets is musky. The floral sweetness turns into a tobacco sweetness, with just a touch of amber. But what really makes this special to me is that these scents play out against a background of various... inorganic smells. This is the part that’s hard to describe. If I close my eyes I smell manila folders, the fading scent of carpet powder, new sneakers, and... yes, there it is - moth balls. This scent reminds me of being the last kid to be picked up from daycare, and running to hug my mom who smells like the best thing ever - clean scrubs, amber perfume, and a whisper of faded cigarette smoke."

Basenotes - "When I first tried AnOther 13, it came off a bit dull, it's very minimalistic, so I understand anyone who might dismiss this quickly on first try as boring, but I grew to like it in its simplicity. It's one of those scents you want to wear when you don't want to wear perfume, but still want to smell scented. It was created in collaboration for a magazine, and in some odd way, it does smell like the glossy pages of a fashion magazine. It's a fragrance I don't think many will love. You have to enjoy those avant-grade art concept scents to really appreciate AnOther 13."

From Basenotes - "The cleanliness can be described as "sterile", metallic, salty sweet, velvety and smooth....NOT clean like laundry....or fresh cotton. This fragrance is very hard to dislike. Another 13 is one of my favorite offerings from this house aside from Gaiac 10."

Fragrantica - "It smells like a chemical at first very reminiscent of a magazine page hence the backstory of this when they were creating this perfume it smells like paper, ink and sweet musky wood in a weird addicting way which is mind blowing... as it reach the mid it transforms into a soft and solid clean, bit sweet woody musky smell which stays up to the dry down of this fragrance. This is AWESOME for me I got unsolicited compliments from the people who rarely compliment my fragrances. This is truly a must have... its odd why designer frag houses are not copying or drawing inspiration from Another 13 this is such a phenomenal fragrance."
