Description

Le Labo Santal 33 is a woody aromatic launched in 2011 and created by Frank Voelkl.

Can you still remember the days when a certain image dominated the essence of men, and yet another transcended society for women. Men everywhere aspired to be the strong, silent type that answered to no one but loved everyone – especially their special someone – like no other. Women wanted to be that sexy go-getter that wasn’t afraid to shatter norms and make a name for herself. It was an iconic time, and it’s one where fragrances followed those ideals such that they sold all over the world in very high numbers.

One of the most famous fragrances that reminds us of this is Le Labo Santal 33. One of the unique factors regarding this amazing product is that it is good for use by both men and women, and that’s exactly what happened. It’s a fragrance that is unmistakable from the first waft of it, and now Surrender to Chance has Le Labo Santal 33 available in an assortment of volumes, ranging from a sample vial all the way up to a 15 ml Glass Spray for those who already know what they want and how to go and get it.

If you’re ready to bring attention to yourself – and have everyone who comes near you – enchanted by your scent, then you have to get your hands on Le Labo Santal 33. Those who haven’t encountered it before will be saying, “What is that you’re wearing? It’s wonderful.” Those who have been around it in the past will instantly be brought back to that time. Most of these folks probably won’t even say anything – they’ll just look at you with that glint in their eye.

Reviews of Le Labo Santal 33

From Basenotes - "The more time passes, the fragrance relaxes and grows as a smell into a creamy sandalwood with cardamom and papyrus, it sweetens a bit but still maintains the leathery aspect which is now paired with soft buttery iris. By the end, the fierce animal has been tamed; it's a smooth, warm, aromatic and woody fragrance."

From Fashionista - "The perfume is the fragrant embodiment of filler words such as "like" and "um," good for dressing up emptiness and likely why it's become so popular within the hotel lobby market. However, when every space, from trendy bars to subway cars, smells the same, there is little distinction between the lifestyle we are supposed to covet and everyday happenstance."

The New York Times - "Like an under-the-radar It bag prized for its unidentifiable features and nondescript branding, Santal 33 quickly became a sort of cult secret, whispered through wafts of sandalwood and cedar, only detected by those in the know."

    Love Santal 33

One of my favorites. I get compliments a lot when I wear this but do get the occasional, "eeeewww you smell like a pine tree" . It is strong and this scent lasts so no need to wear too much. I love it

Le Labo's Rose 31 seems to steal all the thunder from other worthy contenders in the brand's peculiar lineup. I have never smelled anything like Santal 33. It's not a sandalwood scent. No, it's too loud for the mellow, milky smell of sandalwood. It oscillates between something that is like juicy peppered rosewood and deep leathery amber. It's fairly linear too; so what you smell out of the bottle is what's going to be on your skin 16+ hours later.
