Le Labo Tonka 25 was released in Fall of 2018. Created by Daphne Bugey, it is a warm woody musk. They were aiming to go dark - not as dark as Le Labo The Noir, but like forest humidity funk. So you have funky woods and musk wrapped around honeyed tonka and vanilla. Works for me! It has been described as a ringer for Body Shop Wood Musk. I can't verify that, I never tried Wood Musk, but for what it's worth!
The notes include orange blossom, Atlas cedar, styrax, vanilla and tonka bean. Le Labo Tonka 25 is an eau de parfum, edp.
Reviews of Le Labo Tonka 25
From Basenotes - "In the dry down, it's darker, as well, the musk fading with the tonka actually becoming heavier and more enveloping, rendering the fragrance even more comforting as a whole."
From Candy Perfume Boy - "Tonka 25 is great. Yes, it’s actually a spiced cedar and not particularly tonka-centric, but the fact that the scent does not align with the name does not lessen its impact, nor is it a surprise – this is the way Le Labo works and I enjoy how one doesn’t quite know what to expect when trying one of the brand’s offerings for the first time. I’m intrigued by how the refreshing nature of spice is contrasted by a warm base of woods varnished in a caramel-coloured glaze of maple."
From Influenster - "If you're reading this review, run don't walk to get a bottle of Tonka 25. Legit. the. best. Its the PERFECT unisex scent, I'm a woman and I love more musky and woodsy scents and Tonka 25 hits every single mark. I honestly will use Tonka 25 for the rest of my life"
