Marc-Antoine Tilia is a 2024 release centered around the always cheerful and sunny Linden Blossom. Created by Quentin Bisch, it has notes of linden blossom, jasmine, broom, heliotrope, vetiver, orange blossom, ambrofix and georgywood. Marc-Antoine Tilia is an EDP, eau de parfum.
From the brand - "Simple. Solar. Smiling. It is the scent of everlasting summer. Of holidays that never end. Of long lazy lunches with friends, out in the countryside, around a big wooden table. Of flowers that just keep on blooming. Tender verdancy, pollen, honey from the linden tree with its lovely heart-shaped leaves, an emblem of softness and flexibility for the Celts. The honeyed, apricot inflexions of broom. The tender powder of heliotrope. A bucolic bouquet made still richer with a sprig of velvety jasmine Sambac. Underlined, like a stroke of shade intensifying the radiance of an afternoon in the sun, by the smoky earthiness of vetiver... The first of a constellation of floral fragrances, Tilia is also, for its creator Marc-Antoine Barrois and his long-time accomplice, the perfumer Quentin Bisch, the name of an imaginary star. The one that shines on happy days. An ode to simplicity and optimism. ”
Reviews of Marc-Antoine Tilia
Fragrantica - "I found that this is quite polarising.. people either love it.. and compliment me on it, or absolutely hate is.. it smells like honey and yellow flowers.. and the weirdest thing is that it smells so different in the air then it does on the skin.. (what might be an explanation for why it is so polarising) I find it absolutely beautifull.. natural yet powerfull, sweet but not cloying.. to me it hits some perfect notes.. so i bought a full bottel. feminine, unique .. love it."
Fragrantica - "It's rare for a floral to make its way into my permanent collection, but Tilia did it with ease. It is an intoxicating, joyful, utterly unique yellow and white floral...And on that point, for real, Tilia shares Ganymede's DNA. They layer beautifully. Like it's hard to stop myself from just wearing these two every single day. Day or night, casual or not, warm or cold weather, they are perfection together anytime and anywhere. It's almost like they were designed to be a pair. And to top it all off, Tilia's performance is incredible. You can't ask for more. It lasts all day on skin and days on clothing. And thus far, I have not gone noseblind. I get whiffs all day long."
Fragrantica - "Very niche in terms of composition and quality and also very versatile and wearable. It's unique. Opens like sweet linden blossom but it also has a note that comes through later that smells as if you're smelling a hot chili pepper from a very short distance and you don't smell pepper but you feel it affect your nose somehow? Weird description I know but it's the only comparison that came to my mind. So this makes it warm and it's not really perfumey. Worth investing in my opinion."
Fragrantica - "Will a better perfume than this come along in history? We'll have to wait and see."
Fragrantica - "This perfume brings back a childhood memory of the linden tree that grew in my grandmother’s yard. When I stood beneath it and a gentle, pleasant breeze would blow, I could smell that sweet, incredibly comforting scent of honey, warmth, and spring. It’s unobtrusive, non-overpowering, soft, delicate, and magical. To me, this is probably what a forest fairy would smell like. It’s a springtime sunlit forest in a bottle."
