Marlou Carnicure (formerly Marlou L'Animal Sauvage) was originally launched in 2016, it was the beginning of the Marlou brand. A growling animalic open gives way to a warmed musky skin scent.
Carnicure is described on its website as "Once released from the bottle, fiery notes roar forth through a heady blossom haze before coming to rest, purring and subdued, wrapped in a pelt of cream and musk, upon the skin."
It features top notes of orange blossom and violet; middle notes of musk and whipped cream; and base notes of musk, sandalwood, patchouli and civet. Carnicure is an eau de parfum, edp.
Marlou fragrances question the relationship we have with odors. They are created on a small-scale artisan production, handcrafted in the Grasse region of France. "Distinguished from a standardized market, we propose artisanal creations produced in reasoned quantities, free of artifices and entirely dedicated to their substances." - a note from the brand.
Marlou Carnicure Review
Fragrantica - "This opens on me as meat. Warm, raw meat. I find this one hard to stomach at first, but it's worth it after an hour once the meat gives way to a truly sensual musky wood. I suggest a tiny dab somewhere intimate, then layering with something less carnal to soften the initial bloody punch in the face - maybe Le Labo Fleur d'oranger? Don't get me wrong, this fragrance is a keeper.. but expect it to attract attention."
Fragrantica - "Strong pee opening (civet?). Cat fur. Then it dries down to a sultry animalic musc. Lots of it. Like some said, I see how it could resemble the smell of a mink fur coat, with whiffs of old makeup and woman's fragrance sprayed on it the day before.
To me it is comforting, like I'm a cat sleeping surrounded by the smell of my own fur, in my territory."
Fragrantica - "sullied décolletage skin stained with remnants of a tawdry tryst. hot honey oozing onto midriff draped in fur. a wink, a caress. floccose cyprian in heat before a sordid seduction tangled in fleece. dried petals as bookmarks between musty love letters."
