Narciso Rodriguez for Him was created by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and launched in 2007. WWD quotes that the fragrance is inspired by "the great fougeres of the Eighties." It has notes of violet leaf, musk, amber, and patchouli notes.

In all seriousness, this fragrance is about as evocative of an experience as one can get. The ozonic opening is almost without peer, with only Petrichor Plains by Mihan Aromatics sharing that distinction in my experience. Narciso Rodriguez for Him quickly moves from this intense opening act to something infinitely more wearable and pleasant though. The combination of musk, amber, and patchouli move into centre stage, never truely removing the violet leaf. This renders the fragrance into a beautiful, almost warm second act. It’s a work of true genius."

In a way it's a thick, muggy fragrance, but it's sillage begins to dull at about three feet - which is a good thing. The way it extends beyond the wearer is very natural. There's nothing very synthetic or fuzzy on the nose about NR for him. It's a violet musk that can be both warm and cold at the same time. For the price, it's a must-own. It's incredibly unique - I have yet to find anything remotely like it."

This smells exactly like the original formulation of Dior's Fahrenheit with a hefty dose of cumin thrown in the mix which leaves the impression of a sweaty man wearing the fragrance. And I mean that in the best way. I wouldn't wear this to the office or business functions but for a night out or an evening with a romantic partner, I think it's great.
