Light fizzy peonies
It smells lovely but is fleeting for the price.
Parfums MDCI Cio Cio San was released in May 2015. Created by Cecile Zarokian, it centers on cherry blossom. Made more interesting by the blasts of yuzu, lime, lemon, ginger, and grapefruit, it has some infused sweetness from the peony and lychee. Just to make it all more interesting, there's tea and gaiac. This isn't a simple cherry blossom scent by any means. Gorgeous and perfect for spring and summer, it features notes of Yuzu, limette, lemon, ginger, grapefruit, cherry blossom, peony, lychee, oolong tea, gaiac, cedarwood and musk.
Fragrantica: "Gorgeous lychee and flowers, with lovely cedar, guaiac wood and tea and gentle musk for comfort...I love the sharp citrus opening, and the beautifully true lychee - lychee is such a delicious fruit - and the lovely flowers."
Fragrantica: "Peonies with spice and a light effervescence from the citrus. You can smell the fruit of the lychee, adding sweetness without being cloying."

It's pretty. A fruity-floral that unfortunately turns a little sour on my skin. I think it's the lychee (perfumes with that note tend to sour on me, which is a shame because I love the fruit IRL). Not nearly as sophisticated as some of MDCI's other offerings. Almost doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the line. But still, it's well-executed, and I can see someone really into fruity-florals liking it.
