Penhaligon's The Tragedy of Lord George was launched in 2016 as a part of the Portraits line. Created by Alberto Morillas, it has notes of ambrox, soap, rum and tonka bean. It is an eau de parfum, edp.
From the brand - ""Lord George is a wealthy and respected man, the archetypical patriarch. He seems to emboy the noblest values of the aristocracy- virtue, respect, loyalty and faithfulness." "Do come in, I’m sure we’ve met before... Noble patriarch, paragon of masculine elegance, Lord George welcomes with a scent of shaving soap and warming rum. But what secrets hide behind tradition?"
Fragrantica - "The initial spray smells like cigarettes and Florida water and then it dries down to one of the best smells I have ever smelled. It's a simultaneously clean and spicy smell. I don't know what to think but I think this is my favorite by far. I know it's a men's scent but I don't want to give it to my husband. I want to keep it for myself!!!! Yikes this is fantastic and well-blended, I can't quite distinguish notes or give a proper description, it is just sublime."
Fragrantica - "The listed scent profile does not do this complex woodsy barbershop arrangement any justice. Opens into an excellent, soapy lathered shaving cream. That scent evolves as hints of sweet vanilla and mild amber manifest. Mild rum note. Smells good."
Fragrantica - "his scent doesn't really tell an unfolding story, but god when I wear this I feel like a king. This is one of the classiest scents I've ever smelled and unlike most classy scents, this one any age can wear. The mix of woods with the smooth amber is amazing. 1000% recommend if you like woodsy scents..."
Fragrantica - "t smells extremely luxurious, masculine, prominent but not overwhelming. Possibly one of the most perfect masculine scents I have encountered."
