Description

Poesie Myself Invisible is from indie perfume brand Poesie, created by Joelle Nealy, with notes of stacked books, spilled ink, black tea, and shy violets hiding deep in the forest.

From the brand - "What passions raged behind the quiet facade? Hidden away in an isolated stone house on the lonely moors and obscured by her nom de plume, she was neither Currer Bell nor the unassuming vicar’s daughter. She made herself invisible but poured out her flaming heart onto the pages that have resonated through centuries. A tribute to Charlotte Brontë in perfume form."

Poesie perfumes are vegan, cruelty-free, free of phthalates and parabens.  They are handcrafted and made in small batches.

Poesie Myself Invisible Reviews

Reddit - "most of all I absolutely love how they captured the scent of ink here. There’s something amazingly evocative about it, and it takes me right back to my ink print classes, except with a touch more of the light violet hidden inside ink vials. The stacked books have a soft vanillin quality, a little creamy smoothness. To compare the ink scent, I actually took out all my bottles of ink out too just to sniff - and now I have an absurdly early longing for Inktober!"

Reddit - "This is a surprisingly dark smell, a lot darker than I expected. The book smell is very good, sweet gluey paper, a bit of a vanilla smell, with whiffs of leather like an old book cover. The ink in this is really hard to describe, other than to say, well, it's inky. Dark, maybe even a touch metallic. This fades quite a bit as I wear it. The black tea lends a sort of bitter leafy smell to the distant background of this, with a touch of sweetness. The violets are really just a whisper in the throw of this, present but so very light and distant, just the barest hint of a sweet purple floral far away. This actually does have a pretty distinct wood smell to it, but it's dry and dusty. I'm not sure if I'd consider it a 'deep forest' scent, maybe more like a dusty writing desk scent. It's honestly really nice. If you've ever tried Solstice Scents' Gibbon's Boarding School it's very similar to this, but Myself Invisible is a lot more chill than Gibbon's Boarding School. But it's still a very books, leather, and dusty desks smell."

Reddit - "I definitely get a papery and bookish scent, something floral like violates, and just a smidge of black tea. It's very sweet, but I wouldn't call it gourmand. On the skin, this sweetness persists, but the "books" really shine through. There is an obvious sweet floral as well. As it dries down, the sweeter it becomes, and I'm reminded almost of candied violets with just small amounts of "books." Since I didn't know what ink really smelled like, I smelled my husband's ink for his fountain pens and I do notice a smell that is very similar to his Velvet Black Private Reserve ink."

Indie Scent Library - "This is a perfect sister scent to Opening Chapter, but more mature and developed, like Jane is. It starts out with a cup of black tea with a favorite old book. With wear the violets come out and blend perfectly with the other notes."
