The Dead Rise features notes of dark roasted coffee beans spiked with fresh cardamom pods, cubes of brown sugar, Ambroxan and cedar. From their website: Picture yourself on a train to Budapest. The unknown lies before you, but you feel prepared to meet all challenges ahead with youthful optimism in your heart, true love awaiting you, and the imminent opportunity to teach a Romanian count about land buying in London. (Or something like that. We don’t know your life.) Buoyant cardamom and rich dark coffee as irresistible as aristocracy-based career advancement. Sometimes a fragrance is so good that it’s hard to describe in anything but glowing terms, which is embarrassing when you’re the one who made it. So we’ll let you smell for yourself. It is a water-based mist.
Poesie: My eyes are rolling back in my head as this dries down. Wow. This is sex appeal in a bottle. It smells mysterious, and smoky, sweet, woody. Like you are waking up naked in satin sheets to your vampire lover bringing you a steaming hot cappuccino in bed. As others are saying, this is perfectly unisex. It’s quite complex in my opinion. There is something ever so slightly gourmand about this, yet it’s not. It kinda has a dirty pheromonic smell (in the best way possible), yet it makes my skin also smell so clean and spiced. I can definitely see myself getting a full size of this.
Poesie: It’s so beautiful. It starts off smoky and mysterious, and the dry down is sweet with that smokiness in the back. It even has a bit of saltiness in the drydown which I can’t get enough of. This is my favorite oil out of every single one I’ve tried and will never stop repurchasing. It smells like a more sophisticated version of a shaken brown sugar espresso, it’s perfect in the cooler months. Please make this into a EDP I would pay ANYTHING.
Poesie: Warm spiced coffee with sweet boozy brown sugar and ambery musk. This definitely leans more masculine while still being quite sweet and I LOVE it. I also get something that just smells like super clean skin, while being almost aquatic. pretty sure thats just my skin chemistry though, either way its quite lovely. It also lasts forever, sampled in the morning and could smell it next day AFTER a shower. It really sticks to my skin well, so thank god I love it!
