Prada Luna Rossa Black was released in 2018, created by Daniela (Roche) Andrier. The Luna Rossa series was inspired by the Italian racing boat syndicate created to compete in the 2000 America's Cup, co-sponsored by Prada. It is an amber woody fragrance with notes of bergamot, angelica, patchouli, coumarin, amber and musk.
Fragrantica - "Dark and rough, sweet and soft. I get the bright warmth of coumarin, the dark woody earthiness of angelica, and masculine patchouli-musk. There's a tobacco accord somewhere in here, and a lurking iris as well. The notes all blend together and I see a landscape of obsidian mountains dusted with snow. 'Smells like smoked sugar cookies,' says my wife."
Fragrantica - "here is black peppery note – perhaps the Angelica – that may not work well on everyone. On me it’s rather prominent for the first 30 minutes to an hour, then it fades to allow the coumarin and amber to shine thru. Patchouli is very dark, almost chocolate-y, which gives this a slight gourmand feel. At points you get an almost sugary dough-like scent; soft and powdery but still masculine. It really is a gorgeous scent."
Fragrantica - "There's something comforting about the soft yet bold notes here, it's leathery and powdery with a definite hint of vanilla that can be easily noticed throughout the top, middle, and base, classy yet casual this is for sure a must-have."
Fragrantica - "Slightly spicy, strongly smelling of the coumarin, amber, and musk, with notes of angelica and patchouli. I don’t smell the bergamot at all when it is sprayed on skin. This perfume hold a special place in my heart, and whenever I sleep alone at night, I love to spray it either on my neck or pillow, which comforts me and help me sleep."
