Pride by Dominique Ropion is a bold and magnetic fragrance where spice, dark florals and smoky woods create a scent of presence and control. Refined yet commanding, it does not seek attention — it assumes it. The fragrance opens with a striking blend of black pepper, cardamom, and raspberry liquor — spicy, slightly sweet and immediately commanding. At the heart, Turkish rose unfolds with depth and richness, layered with the shifting, almost hypnotic facets of davana and ink, creating a dark and evolving floral core. As it settles, oak wood, tobacco and vetiver bring a dry, smoky elegance — structured, grounded, and quietly dominant. Pride is where it begins. The dry-down maintains that mood, with tobacco, vetiver, and oak wood forming a smooth, smoky base still tinged with faint booziness. Projection is very strong during the first couple of hours, then settles into a more moderate sillage. Longevity is solid — around 8 to 10 hours. It wears quite heavy so I’d go easy on the sprays."
