RETRO - Jovan Modern Flowers Cologne
Year Introduced: 1974 - Feminine
Notes: There is no official listing of notes that I could find
Modern Flowers was part of a set of four fragrances called the Classic Florals that included Lily of the Valley, Oriental Flowers and Lilac. Offer a young girl flowers and she'll want the whole arrangement. Soft-petalled Lily of the Valley for shy dreamy days. Wet, fresh-faced Lilac for wide-eyed innocent days. Full-bodied Modern Flowers for bright, sunshiny days. Oriental Flowers for when she's feeling sultry. Each ones come in an Eau de Cologne Spray mist as pretty as it is fragrant. The matching essences were added to the line later.
McCall's, 1974:
Modern Flowers. A full bodies, rich and projecting floral blend of the contemporary and the classic for the woman who's both. A fragrance that distinctively sets you apart as exciting. Up to the moment. And elegant.
The New York Times Magazine, 1974:
Modern Flowers, a sophisticated and exciting blend of fresh blossoms.
Modern Flowers has been discontinued. I'm not sure when but I see that Jovan had "The Classic Florals" as a Word Mark from 4/27/76 until 09/21/82.
We are decanting from a 1 oz. bottle of the original cologne version of this fragrance that is commonly seen on eBay.
