Aviance

RETRO - Prince Matchabelli Aviance Cologne
Year Introduced: 1975 - Feminine
Notes: Rose, jasmine, lily of the valley, musk, tonka bean and cinnamon
Aviance is a floral aldehyde fragrance. Fragrantica shows no notes for the fragrance but Yesterday’s Perfume mentions notes of rose, jasmine, lily of the valley, musk, tonka bean and cinnamon.
Aviance was marketed to the suburban housewife who dreamed of liberation. It had just enough sexiness to it that a woman could spray it on after a hard day's work taking care of her family and her house and lure her husband to show her a little “attention”. It was one of the sexiest ads during its time and was written by a woman, Lois Geraci Ernst, the C.E.O. and founder of Advertising to Women. Aviance sold over $7 million its first year and the ad was selected by Advertising Age as one of the best commercials in 1975. The wording was "I've been sweet and I've been good; I've had a whole full day of motherhood, but I'm gonna have an Aviance night."
Aviance won a FiFi Award in 1976 for Women's Fragrance of the Year - Broad Appeal (Popular Appeal).
Aviance has been discontinued.
This is the original cologne version of the fragrance.
