Jontue is a floral green fragrance that launched in 1976. According to the book International Marketing: Strategy and Theory, the author mentioned that "the former French-born chairman of Revlon viewed Amoresse (the original name for Jontue) as unsuitable for a fragrance for the international audience so the name was changed to Jontue." Revlon's research team had reported that most women thought that the perfume's name was either a woman's name or a foreign term for romance or something along those lines. However, insiders had revealed that the translation is really "John, too" — as a tribute to Charles Revson's son, John Charles Revson.
While Revlon's Charlie fragrance was aimed at the independent woman, Jontue was created to appeal to a more romantic woman. It is a lovely, soft scent with lots of white flowers (tuberose and gardenia), and is very sweet and florally. It begins with a green, fruity top, followed by an exotic floral heart, resting on a sensual, powdery base.
Like all of the other fragrances of its era, it was reformulated at some point.

I agree with the first poster saying this fragrance is a time capsule, even though I myself haven’t worn it. I don’t know what it is about Revlon Jontue cologne that takes me back to a specific time in my life, before my preteen or “tween” years, but whatever it is.....the tuberose, maybe? Nah, probably not, since tuberose scents are in abundance......but I think it’s wonderful. I much love the advertisement.
I was wearing Jontue when I met my first love back in the 70's. I came across the reformulated version as few years back and was sadly disappointed. It had a sharp smell to it and that ended that. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when i discovered STC and I found their retro version of Jontue. Today I have it and have just enjoyed my first spray. It's just as I remembered and all those wonderful memories flooded my mind once again. Jontue is a gorgeous mysterious sensual romantic scent that embraces each moment and seals it yours. It is my time capsule. Thank you STC for this wonderful website of emotion! My package arrived intact, all the way to Canada. A nice surprise to open the package to reveal a delicate little organza bag enveloping my spray bottle. Thank you again!
