Jade East by Swank sample
Oh, this it it... that intoxicating scent from the 60s & 70s that made me think my Dad was cooler than James Bond. He passed away at 90 last year - having his scent keeps him close. Thank you for the sweet memory.
Swank Jade Jeast is the original blending of citrus, herbal, and fragrant wood essences finished with a touch of musk and vanilla make Jade East a distinct fragrance that became an immediate favorite among teenagers and young men in the 1950s and 1960s. The popularity of Jade East spawned two flankers, Jade East Golden Lime in 1966 and Jade East Coral in 1967.
Swank was actually a shoe company out of New York that went out of business in the early 1970s. Jade East was purchased by Songo who in turn sold it to Regency Cosmetics in 1986. It was discontinued in 1988 however it was relaunched in 2005.
Jade East is still available for purchase and is distributed by Regency Cosmetics.
This is the original cologne version of the fragrance.

Smells pretty much as I remember from the 1960s. I used to prefer the Jade East after shave over the cologne, and I suspect most of us old guys remember the after shave scent as our favorite. it's less staid, more invigorating than the cologne. The after shave is still available elsewhere as well; it smells mostly the same, close enough to bring back a flood of great memories.

Not quite as riveting as I remember. May have weakened with age. Close, but no cigar. However, I may order it again. It has always been my favorite since 1964 when I first smelled it, and today I am 76. It does seem to smell better than what is on the market today by Regency.
