This sampler gives you fragrances that celebrate the beautiful note of rose. The rose is called both the King and Queen of flowers. It is the cornerstone of perfumery and are said to feature in at least 75% of modern feminine fragrances and at least 10% of all men's fragrances. Rose is an incredible ingredient that is often misunderstood. For centuries, the terms feminine, floral and powdery have been strongly associated with the rose and while it's hard to break the association, it's important to note that certain species of rose carry a fresh, clean hint of citrus in their scent, as well as woody and spicy notes, that can typically be associated with more masculine tones. Perfumers use only a few species of rose among the most scented: Rosa centifolia, also known as cabbage rose (in France) and Rosa damascena (in Turkey and Bulgaria). Rose is used in two extracts: the essential oil or the absolute, with the absolute being the deeper and sweeter variant.
You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler. You also have the option of choosing a larger size sampler.
- Le Labo Rose 31 EDP - A dark, dry, spicy rose scent intended for men but perfect for a women. Launched in 2006 and created by Daphne Bugey, it has notes of Centifolia rose, cumin, pepper, clove, nutmeg, olibanum, cedar, amber, gaiac wood, oud, cistus, vetiver and animalic notes.
- Miller et Bertaux Shanti Shanti EDP - Shanti Shanti was based on sensory experiences of the perfumers travels in India. It features a top note of pink pepper; middle notes of cardamom, orris, rose and patchouli leaves and a base note of Indian sandalwood.
- Solstice Scents First Flush EDP - First Flush captures the essence of blush pink and pale apricot antique and modern garden roses cloaked in the morning fog. A fruity opening featuring traces of watermelon, raspberry, lemon and apricot quickly gives way to fresh, bright and lush rose petals dotted with dew. Like the first flush of a rosarium in spring, this perfume opens strongly at initial application. It settles to a moderate strength and more intimate experience due to the strong focus on natural materials in this blend. First Flush is a mixed media rose soliflore that contains a variety of precious natural rose essences from around the world, including an exceptional Iranian rose otto. With notes of blush pink and apricot roses, watermelon, lemon, raspberry, apricot, morning dew, hints of green and wet earth.
