Description

Sorcellerie In Dreams and Fairy Tales Pistachio Parfum de Extrait is a vanilla fragrance and is based on the scent of French meringue  from this viral indie brand created by Caitlin Hayes in 2024.  Notes of Baked meringue, vanilla bean absolute, sugar, a sprinkle of chamomile and then you can choose from vanilla, pistachio, strawberry rosewater, blueberry or passionfruit.  Our version is Pistachio.  We have all the others coming, but it may be a couple weeks!

The perfumer notes for Sorcellerie In Dreams and Fairy Tales -
"Based on the scent of French meringue served at a Parisian salon de thé, In Dreams and Fairy Tales is an airy, slightly toasted cloud of vanilla and powdered sugar with a sprinkle of chamomile. This is my perfect, fluffy, all-seasons vanilla that makes me feel like I stepped into a fairy tale. It is beautiful on its own, and layers perfectly as a vanilla base for any scent.

And because half of the fun of eating meringues is trying all of the flavors, we paired some of our fan-favorite gourmand accords with the vanilla base - choose from vanilla, pistachio, strawberry rosewater, blueberry, or passionfruit!"

It is an extrait de parfum.

Reviews of Sorcellerie In Dreams and Fairy Tales Extrait

These are reviewed together, difficult to pull them separately.

Reddit - "Pistachio: Oh my, I love the pistachio here so much!!! It is the same one from A Party or Something, which I also adore. It is the best pistachio ever, super realistic and somehow fuzzy and velvety in both scents; though less fuzzy here. I also enjoy Nui Cobalt's pistachio note, but unlike Nui Cobalt, pistachio is not too nutty or roasted; it is just a pure pistachio. However, the pistachio mellows down too soon for me ? but then it gets meshed with the sweet and creamy vanilla so well and I get pistachio creme for a long time. If you love APOS and you love the ethereal, gentle quality of this collection, I strongly recommend!!

Passionfruit: So I never smelled passionfruit in real life, but I still dare say with confidence this is super realistic like the pistachio! It smells juicy, sweet and tart; very balanced. It feels like a sunlit, whipped passionfruit treat. If you tried and enjoyed Love and Complications but wanted to experience the passionfruit in its full glory, this is for you!

Strawberry and Rosewater: Oh my goodness, this is a huge winner for me! It is THE fairy princess scent! It is pink, feminine, just gorgeous. I have to say, I was really hoping for rosewater prominent scent but this is very much strawberry forward! I believe that the strawberry is closest to the Where the Wild Things Grow 1. But here, those strawberries are ripened and coated with powdered sugar. It doesn't have green to it but, I really feel like rosewater boosts the strawberry from the background to give that dainty fairy princess vibe. It gives a touch of freshness and elegance. Altogether it is sweet but never cloying. It is the best performance I experienced among all.

Blueberry: It is time for the blueberry jam from This is Not a Love Spell to shine! It is exactly that but without all the dry and dusty quality that we get from This is Not a Love Spell. For me, this was straightforward and remained one note, I ended up wishing the blueberry was richer and sweeter, just also stronger overall. (I may be going anosmic to this) This was the faintest one on me. But I am very specific when it comes to blueberries and even more so with strawberries, so I was surprised Strawberry Rosewater worked this well.

Thoughts: My favorite here turned out to be Strawberry and Rosewater, unexpectedly!! Then followed by Pistachio, that followed closely by Vanilla. Passionfruit note may not get frequent use from me, but I will surely finish my sample in the summer! The only one that didn't quite workout was blueberry but it was still pleasant and I'd happily finish my sample.

Something I'd like to mention as common to all of these scents: they are not the usual rich and strong smelling Sorce edps. They have a really gentle and airy quality to them. They most waft around you like they are part of your ethereal aura. I also never picked up chamomile and any caramelized golden meringue parts! Also they all have a shining gourmand notes but they are never too gourmand, they are done in the Sorce way of elevated gourmands."
