Stella McCartney was born in September of 1971. Her famous father is Sir Paul McCartney from The Beatles. McCartney graduated Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 1995. Her first collection evoked sharp tailoring, natural confidence and sexy femininity. In 1997, after only two collections, she was appointed the Creative Director of Chloe in Paris.

In 2001, Stella resigned from Chloe and started her own fashion house under her name in a joint venture with Gucci Group. She showed her first collection in Paris in October of that year. The next years brought ventures into accessories, lingerie, Stella McCartney Kids collections, eyewear, fragrance and organic skincare. Her most recent experience was designing the Great Britain 2012 Olympic Games uniforms. This was the first time that a leading fashion designer has designed the apparel for a country's team across all competitions for both the Olympics and Paralympic Games. Continuing to release new lines and collections, Stella uses no furs or leather in her designs as she is a lifelong vegetarian.

McCartney branched off into fragrances in 2003 in conjunction with L’Oreal.  Her first fragrance was Stella.  Each Spring a limited Sheer edition is released in a different bottle design.  Additional fragrances include Stella in Two Amber, Stella in Two Peony, Print Collection Stella 01, 02 and 03 and her most recent L.I.L.Y.  Fragrances are created by Jacques Cavallier.
