Description

Burnout Syndrome is a chypre fragrance that launched in 2025. Created by Anucha Boonyawatana, it is inspired by the emotional collision of love, art, capital, and technology explored in the Thai series Burnout Syndrome. The scent captures the tension between intensity and rebirth. A blaze of plum liqueur and citrus ignites this modern chypre that transforms exhaustion into elegance. It opens with the intoxicating warmth of umeshu and ripe plum sparked by bright mandarin, casting a smoky, sensual veil over the composition. At the heart, cedarwood, osmanthus, iris and patchouli unfold with quiet complexity, gradually deepening into a powerful base of castoreum, vetiver, oakmoss and amber. The result is a fragrance that reflects both collapse and renewal—an olfactory metaphor for burnout reignited with strength, sensuality, and creative fire. Burnout Syndrom features top notes of umeshu, plum and mandarin; middle notes of cedarwood, osmanthus, iris and patchouli; and base notes of castoreum, vetiver, oakmoss and amber. It is an extrait de parfum.

THE PERFUME SANCTUARY BURNOUT SYNDROME REVIEWS

Fragrantica: “Burnout Syndrome has sweetness at the beginning and glamourous sexiness at the end. I have not got the fruity note from mandarin as I expect, but the deep sense from plum liquor is definitely there which gives the feeling of mystery and seduction as the same time. The longevity is great; 12 hours+ just for a few sprays once in the morning and the scent remains on my skin all day long. Is Burnout Syndrome a unisex fragrant? Yes! Everyone can enjoy this perfume. Is Burnout Syndrome a perfume for all seasons. My opinion is yes. This is a perfume that I can wear on the daily basis, especially during spring and fall which helps me improve my focus on daytime work.”

Fragrantica: “Burnout Syndrome by The Perfume Sanctuary opens prominently with cedarwood, blending into green and earthy notes. Interestingly, the plum emerges later, lingering around before receding as a powdery note (likely iris) takes the stage. Towards the dry down, while the Iris settles into a skin scent, the charm of the plum remains subtly present throughout the journey. This is a complex fragrance and my overall experience was delightful. Definitely full-bottle worthy.”
