If you do the resin thing… this is for you
It reminds me of days when I had a wood burning fireplace in my home. Such a delicate interpretation of myrrh. It’s not ceremonial, it is inviting. Good job TF.
Tom Ford Myrrhe Mystere was released in late 2023 as part of the Private Blend line of fragrances. An amber woody with notes of sandalwood, vanilla and myrrh.
From the brand - "The new exclusive creation delves into the enigmatic world of amber, crafted to showcase Tom Ford's personal interpretation of the ingredient of myrrh. Myrrhe Mystère embraces the rarity and exclusivity fueled by the ingredient's ancient heritage and expands olfactory horizons with the allure of warm, woody, and sweet notes. The composition develops with myrrh essence and myrrh resinoid absolute, wrapped up in smooth sandalwood and vanilla notes."
Fragrantica - "Quite good actually. It's a classy cross of Bois Marocain and Ebony Fume with slights remnants of amber absolute. Not as austere or dry as Bois Marocain, and ultimately much much better than Ebone Fume, as I find that to one to lean on the feminine side of the spectrum. Myrrhe Mystère is mostly a cypress, thuja, and incense fragrance, with palo santo, amber and labdanum in the base. The myrrh theme is a little linear but it’s both smoky, and creamy in the best possible way."
Fragrantica - "I got married at a Catholic church, and this is the exact smell in the quarters where the Eucharist is prepared and the incense is stored. It’s a complete replica of that smell. Amazing!!!!"
Fragrantica - "To my nose it is quite similar to Èbène Fumé but has so much more depth, intensity and staying power (unlike Bois Marocain that almost completely deserted my skin with the first puff of wind). This is true: I sprayed on Myrrhe Mystère in the late afternoon and could still sense it during my sleep at night. Such an exclusive choice for fall and winter evenings and, not least, nights."
