Description

Tom Ford Tuscan Leather is one of the original 12 fragrances released in the Private Blend collection. This fragrance is a blend of chypre that starts with a sensual rawness then takes on a classic, earthy leather and soothing smoky wood for an elegant composition.

Notes of saffron, raspberry, thyme, olibanum, night blooming jasmine, leather, black suede and amberwood.

Reviews of Tom Ford Tuscan Leather

From Bois de Jasmin - "Tuscan Leather unfolds immediately into a composition of smoky balsam, leather and amber, and its character remains unchanged during its development. It is a very modern leather composition in that the animalic notes have a dry quality and the amber is not the classical sweet vanilla and labdanum base, but a transparent, crisp woody note. The darkness of the composition is pleasantly alleviated by the herbal and sheer floral (hedione) notes. Tuscan Leather does not shock, nor does it challenge, but for an elegant, day-into-evening fragrance, it is an excellent choice."

Best Men's Colognes - "Of course. It is a really great leather fragrance, that is sophisticated, well blended, and smells awesome. Smooth as hell and the saffron/raspberry really add a nice touch to the whole composition. If you’re not a leather fan, obviously avoid this one."

    Tuscan Leather

If Tuscan Leather were a person, it would be Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, wearing a leather jacket, riding a motorcycle, smoking a cigar. The smoke was so heavy in the sample I received, I couldn't smell the "leather" until several hours later. The leather note in TL isn't a smooth, sophisticated English leather you'd imagine in a gentleman's club or someone's private library, but more a rugged, raw leather you'd find hung outside the butcher. If smoke is your jam, you'll love TL. It permeates everything else that may or may not be in this concoction, but it's one that definitely isn't for me. If you enjoy a leather smell, but appreciate subtlety and want to stay with Tom Ford, try Ombre Leather instead.

    This Is the Good Stuff

One of the best masculine fragrances I've encountered...slightly heady with complex, leathery notes that never overwhelm.

    Refined and Quality Scent

It is clear that the quality of this is very good, but it has a prominent older leather smell to it so depending on how much you like that will determine if you would like this scent. I see it as a better version of the John Varvatos/varvatos vintage fragrances. Something I would want to wear on occasion maybe but not something that fits as a daily scent in my opinion.

    Smell OK

Another reviewer said this fragrance smell like a well-kept tack room; and I can't disagree. If you want to smell like an old tap dancing rooms' wood floor that's been well polished for years, get this fragrance and you'll have it in liquid form. It's a very good chance I won't purchase a full bottle because my 2ml sample is going to last me for a long time, if you get my meaning!

Great smell, but poor longevity (on me)

I love the smoky, leathery aroma I get from this during the dry down, unfortunately it only lasts about 3 hours on me otherwise it would be 5 stars

    Salty, sexy leather

Too masculine for me, a touch sweaty, but on my husband it's deeply sexy. Interestingly, I can't detect anything even minimally floral in it. It smells like a well-kept tack room.
