Tragic Natural Disasters Sampler - Set of Five 1/2ml Samples

A natural disaster is a catastrophic event caused by Earth's natural processes that severely impacts human populations, infrastructure and the environment. These occurrences overwhelm local capacity to cope and result in significant loss of life, property damage and economic disruption. Included are earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides/avalanche, hurricanes (tropical cyclone), tornado, flood, wildfire, tsunami and drought. Additional natural hazards include meteorites, heat waves, blizzards, dust storms, firestorms, hail, ice storms, sinkholes, thunderstorms, tornadoes, monsoons and tsunamis. While an unusual subject for a sampler, there are some fabulous fragrances inspired by natural disasters. 

You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler.

1. (MONSOON) Amouage Meander EDP - Inspired by monsoon rain in Oman, Meander by Amouage is that rarefied perfume. It's an invisible essence that envelopes you in its intoxicating embrace. In a world where most aromas are loud, overbearing and excessive, one needs a subtle fragrance that gently 'meanders' with you throughout your day. When you wear Meander, it has a slow reveal: as it settles on skin, layer after layer of warmth opens up -- like drops of rain hitting dry earth. It features top notes of olibanum oil, carrot heart, pine pepper CO2 and black pepper oil; middle notes of orris, rose absolute, cypriol heart and jonquille absolute; and base notes of olibanum resinoid, Javanese vetiver oil and sandalwood oil.
2. (FLOOD) Anna Zworykina Venetian Red EDP - Venetian Red is another exciting smellscape: antique Venice, with all its magical beauty to the eye and reality to the nose. In Venetian Red you have smells of damp plaster, old bricks, slow green water in the canals and swift azure tides of the lagoon. You have ancient attics full of sea air and treasure chests forgotten there since the times of Marco Polo, and you also have dust which is part glory of the Venetian republic, part decomposed brocade and maps of the world circa 15th century. With notes of neroli absolute, seaweed absolute, nutmeg absolute, saffron absolute, labdanum absolute, oakmoss absolute, vanilla absolute, myrrh essential oil, ambergris tincture, fleur d'orange absolute, cumin CO2, patchouli essential oil, rose turkish otto, jasmine grandiflorum absolute and angelica root absolute.
3. (WILDFIRE) Cognoscenti No. 44 Fire and Rain EDP - A study in contrasts. Both are revered and feared. They are destructive and cause upheaval; yet they also stimulate change and renewal. This fragrance looks at both sides of each element through the filter of the California landscape. Memories of smoke-filled skies and mud slides at fire-scarred hillsides are tempered by sunny skies, soft breezes filled with flowers and warm woods, and a proximity to a salty coast. Made in small batches by architect and perfumer Danniele Sergent in San Francisco, Sergent explains that the “fragrance looks at both sides of each element through the filter of the California landscape. Memories of smoke-filled skies and mud slides at fire scarred hillsides are tempered by sunny skies, soft breezes filled with flowers and warm woods, and a proximity to a salty coast … In the 3 years since I started No. 44 the fragrance changed a lot. And so had the world around me. We’ve had raging fires and apocalyptic skies in California, mud slides and the isolation of the pandemic. With all of the drama unfolding, flowers, soft warm breezes and coastal walks were the things that restored me. All of these blended with the memories of the smoke-filled skies and the promise of rain formed the structure of the fragrance. A love letter to California.” Fire and Rain is the brand’s 10th anniversary fragrance. It was originally conceived as a scent sketch for the 2018 Los Angeles Experimental Scent Fair. The resulting fragrance, Mud + Fire/Flame, became an unexpected favorite, which inspired Sergent to “really look at the ingredients and create a fully formed perfume with a similar concept.” Fire and Rain grew out of this exploration and became, in Sergent’s words, “a love letter to California. A milestone.” It features notes of rain (geosmin), California coast (salt, Grisalva), sunshine (pink grapefruit, blood orange and saffron), florals (neroli, gardenia, Hedione, geraniol), smoke (cypriol, hydrocarboresin, vetiver) and warm breezes (light woods, musks, resins). It was an Art and Olfaction Awards 2023 Honorable Mention fragrance.
4. (VOLCANO) Demeter Lava Rock Cologne – A warm and earthy fragrance inspired by the history of Hawaii that is inexorably intertwined with the volcanoes and lava.
5. (METEORITE) Syd Botanica Meteorite EDP - A metallic and earthy perfume that poetically captures the scent of a meteorite crashing into the earth. Created by Syd Buffman, it features notes of cardamom, black pepper, saffron, meteorite accord, silver fir, black frankincense, oud, espresso and smoked earth.
