Description

Iceland is a Nordic island nation in the North Atlantic Ocean known as the "Land of Fire and Ice" because of its dramatic contrast of active volcanoes and massive glaciers. It is a stunningly beautiful place to visit and some of their most popular tourist spots are The Golden Circle, Gullfoss Waterfall, Þingvellir National Park, The South Coast, Reynisfjara Black Beach, Skógafoss, The Blue Lagoon and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. They are home to two popular niche brands of perfume - Fischersund and Andrea Maack. This sampler will give you a great example of the scents of Iceland.

You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler.

  1. Fischersund FLÓÐ EDP - This limited edition fragrance is made for FLÓÐ, a spatial scent, sound and light sculpture by Jón “Jónsi” Þór Birgisson. His main inspiration is the ocean, this ominous and mysterious force playing a central part in our lives. It’s basically about “the big wave,” a wave that takes us all and destroys everything in its path. The effects of climate change, such as sea level rise, flooding, and intensified natural disasters, are happening all around us, and this piece is a reflection of that dire reality. FLÓÐ is an aromatic fragrance that launched in 2024 and features key elements of Icelandic seaweed, scorched Siberian pine, acrid air, geosmin and Ambroxan. From literature from the brand: The big wave. Nearly everything is underwater. The weather is still but has been unpredictable so far. With briny tar and smoke trails flittering through the air. Chimney tops and statue heads break the surface, and few floating structures survive the watery destruction. We all saw the warning signs but chose to scroll by in our little lives, and now, I guess, it's too late. Everything is silent except for ghostly voices - echoing ship horns, and the big wave breaking in the distance. Unsure if this is real - my imagination or past memories? Dark clouds surround me but a ray of light breaks through. Is it guiding me?
  2. Fischersund No. 23 EDP - Their inaugural fragrance inspired by Old Reykjavik. Described as: Smoke in the air and tarred telephone poles, tall freshly mowed grass, and tobacco leaves. Dead flowers bow to the ground. In the breeze, the feminine fountain pine tickles the top of your skull. A beached whale is about to explode. It evokes nostalgia and heritage and is rooted in the perfumer's memories of working alongside his father on the big ships that frequented the old harbor. No. 23, captures the essence of oil-stained hands, a feeling of industry and salty ocean air mixed with the aroma of pipe tobacco. With top notes of bergamot, black pepper and licorice; middle notes of cypress and Siberian fir; and base notes of birch tar, ambergris and patchouli.
  3. Fischersund No. 8 EDP - Inspired by memories of a childhood growing up in a small village called Mosfellssveit just outside the city. This fresh scent channels the feeling of endless days spent outdoors, riding bikes, and exploring nature with all the freedom of childhood, along with the anticipation of the delivery of baked goods their grandmother would bring weekly. Described as: Scent of brand new sneakers crushing fresh flower stalks against hot asphalt. Mouth full of lemon candy and fingers sticky with motor oil. Stolen rhubarb from a neighbor’s garden, peeled, slathered in honey and chewed on. Orange cake crumble in the pocket of freshly washed clothes. Arctic wind blowing through hair in a damp pine forest. No. 8 features top notes of rhubarb, grapefruit and petitgrain; middle notes of Sitka spruce and birch leaf; and base notes of balsam fir, amber and asphalt.
  4. Fischersund Utilykt EDP - Launched in 2021 as a collaboration with 66° North, the Icelandic outdoor heritage brand. Inspired by Icelandic nature, the scent recalls the wind, the sea, the snow, and fresh grass, distilling that hard-to-describe but universally familiar smell of the Icelandic outdoors, Útilykt. It features top notes of ozone, bergamot and grass; middle notes of seaweed and Siberian fir; and base notes of moss, vetiver and ambergris.
  5. Love Olfactive Icelandic Salt EDP - Stand at the edge of the world. Cold spray rising off the North Atlantic, the air so clean it almost stings. Icelandic Salt opens sharp and bracing, a rush of sea mist and ozone carrying the mineral bite of saltwater across the shore. The heart is elemental: glacial air, weathered stone, the briny depth of the ocean itself, vast and quiet and impossibly clear. It dries down into something softer, driftwood smoothed by centuries of tide, a whisper of white musk holding the last of the salt against skin. Stark, beautiful and endlessly cold. It features top notes of sea mist, ozone and Atlantic salt; middle notes of glacial air and weathered stone; and base notes of driftwood, white musk and mineral amber.
