A shore is the dynamic margin of land where it meets a large body of water, such as an ocean, sea or lake. Shores vary drastically in their geological makeup falling mainly into sandy shores, rocky shores and marshes and estuaries. In perfumery, the beach and shore cover a wide range of notes because of the wide variety of shoreland – rugged, peaceful, ocean, lake, etc. The notes used to describe a shore are typically grouped into marine, aquatic and salty accords. They recreate the atmosphere of the coast using a blend of ozonic, mineral and botanical notes that evoke sea spray, driftwood, wet sand, seaweed and fresh coastal air. An example of notes would be Calone (a synthetic molecule that gives a watery, transparent and slightly melon-like freshness), sea salt, seaweed absolute, sea fennel, oakmoss, sun-warmed sands, dune grasses and driftwood. Beach notes in fragrances include sand, saltwater, coconut, rum, citrus and vanilla.
You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler.
- Botica Botanica Corona Del Mar Perfume Oil - Lying in the sand, blankets wrapped around shoulders, exhausted from swimming and sunning all day. Salty hair and the sweet citrus-coconut scent of sunscreen lingering slightly on the skin, which is lit by the flickering orange glow from a bonfire.
- D.S. & Durga Wipeout! EDP – A beachy vibe with notes of ginger lily, guava flower, surf spray, ylang ylang, osmanthus, coconut milk, vanilla orchid, Javanese vetyver and bustin' surfboards.
- Imaginary Authors Sundrunk EDP - All of the Imaginary Authors have a story that accompanies them. Here is the story of Sundrunk from their website: "When Clementine Cope set foot in snow deeper than her knees, she knew it was for the last time. Leaving the rural Montana home she’d been raised in, with no plans other than to follow the setting sun, she’d wake up every morning and head towards the warmth; dreaming of Dennis Wilson, push pops in the sand, and convertibles. Her journey covers thousands of miles and delivers her first-ever view of the ocean. By the time summer hits, Clem is consumed by an incomprehensible joy. She finally stops traveling when she settles into a ramshackle surf camp with newfound friends from the hills of Topanga, California. Now realizing for the first time her journey is only beginning." With notes of neroli, rhubarb, honeysuckle, rosewater, orange zest and a first kiss.
- The Little Book Eater Island Castaway Perfume Oil - A beachy, fresh scent that is the perfect combination of getting shipwrecked on an island, doing your best Robinson Crusoe impressing and spelling out SOS in coconuts on the beach. Made with the scents of coconut, water lily, ozone, driftwood and salty sea air.
- Wylde Ivy She Sells Sea Shells Perfume - It is a “summer in a bottle” scent. The smell of beach towels dried in the salty ocean air, six layers of suntan lotion on your skin, coconut scented after sun lotion, and the way all the scents linger so closely to your skin in the heavy humid summer air. With notes of coconut, crushed vanilla beans, coconut milk, orange blossom, tuberose, aloe vera and white musk.
