Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Le Parfum was launched in 2023. If you have not been a fan of the Black Opium line to this point or thought it was missing something, this is the one that may change your mind. Created by Nathalie Lorson, Olivier Cresp, Marie Salamagne and Honorine Blanc, it has notes of pear, cinnamon, green mandarin, solar notes, orange blossom, jasmine sambac, Madagascar vanilla, Bourbon vanilla, vanilla absolute, coffee, patchouili and vanilla orchid.
From the brand - "This long-lasting perfume is the most intense and warm interpretation of the original Black Opium perfume. The captivating scent radiates an unexpected rush of precious vanilla, complemented by iconic coffee notes and a sensual bouquet of white flowers. A unique scent for those searching for never-ending nights."
Fragrantica - "My favourite Black Opium flanker! I always thought Black Opium was okay and didn't care much about the flankers they had released until now, the perfect blend of vanillas with a hint of coffee. It's almost like I layered the original with Vanilla 28."
Fragrantica - "Black opium meets Soft Vanilla Creaminess! Yum!"
Fragrantica - "This is so good, if you’re in the market for black opium do yourself a favor skip all the others and get this. It’s phenomenal."
Fragrantica - "The scent to me is undoubtedly warm, toffee nut latte with cookies or a cake smell I yearn for and it reaches it, the cinnamon is there but I didn’t place it until I read it listed here. There is floral but very subtle, not the bolder jasmine scents in the EDP form. The vanillas are intoxicating I adore the blend."
Fragrantica - "STOP. Why is this SO GOOD?? It’s like a vanilla latte. Not a fan of the other Black Opiums, but I did always like the vanillic dry down of the original. This is just like how I remember that, but you don’t have to grit your teeth through the first hour. I hate the Black Opium bottles, but we may have to make room for this one."
Fragrantica - "I agree with many reviewers here, I never was a fan of the other versions except for this one. This is hands down one of the best creamy, warm vanilla scents I've tried. The vanilla in this is absolutely beautiful, the coffee note is just right and not too strong. The fruity/floral notes aren't very noticeable (to me at least)."
