Description

Zoologist Beaver is a woody musk perfume created by Chris Bartlett.  Beaver has notes of fresh outdoor air, linden blossom, wood shavings, wild vegetation, damp air, dry wood, water, light musk*, heavy musk*, dark woods, vanilla, amber, castoreum* and leather* (*denotes a synthetic note).

Beaver is described:  "... slip away to a cozy family lodge. A tranquil river encloses the den in its rippling embrace as it glides beneath the blossoms of lush linden trees lining the banks. The breezy aroma of the green, floral grove washes over you, just before you duck inside to be welcomed by leathery hints of musky castoreum*. As it mingles with the moist, woody note of freshly hewn timber, it strikes you just how sexy and dapper this perfume is, and you sink into it, letting yourself be enfolded in its surprising elegance."

Beaver is an eau de parfum, EDP

Zoologist Beaver Reviews

From EauMG - "This is an animalic perfume for those that get weak in the knees when they sample something musky or with leather Yet, it also appeals to those whose stomach turns at the thought of wearing something animalic. It’s like “beginner skank”. But, at the same time, it’s going to appeal to those that like musks. Beaver also appeals to anyone that likes vintage style perfumes. It actually reminds me of a modern interpretation of classic feminines – aldehydes, ripe florals paired with all those skanky notes. These contrasts give Beaver a playful feel. It doesn’t take itself too seriously. And how can it with a name like Beaver?"

From Basenotes - "this may be Zoologist's most exact embodiment of the spirit animal behind their fragrance. The musk is gently in the background, very light: the smell of vegetation is everywhere. It's transformative as if your consciousness in a pond or river. Upon first application, it's reserved but strong: sharp mineral notes of lilac and waterlily. On the drydown, leather comes out along with amber. It only makes it a bit darker, but the overall impression is one of lightness: no small feat for a scent with leather as many fragrances want to hit you over the head with their leathery vibes."

Fragrantica - "The dry down has me constantly sniffing my arm. I'm very used to woody scents, but there's something about this one that has that "indie" vibe. It's not a crowdpleaser, which is what I look for in fragrances. I'm so exhausted with the grapefruit/cedar combination that's everywhere these days. But Beaver has something special, and I'm VERY interested in splurging on a full bottle."

Fragrantica - "In fact, Beaver 2016 is a bit like if Alaia Paris and TF White Suede met and had a baby next to a river stream - it's the perfect combination of refreshing, elegant, cozy, and sexy. This is a great everyday scent for leather/musk lovers and a big compliment getter!"
