Reviews of Hermes Terre d'Hermes

from basenotes - "Excellent. Modern classic for a reason. It’s masculine and mature, but not at all brutal or belligerent. Very much the grandson of Guerlain Vetiver."

from influenster - "Let me start by saying this is such a warm uplifting sunshine citrus fragrance. It's very masculine and elegant but also fun. It just has a vibe that is hard to neglect."

    Terre D'Hermes

The "dirty orange". Terre D'Hermes is a fruity, masculine scent that exudes confidence and maturity (so mature, some people even think of it as an old man smell). If it is an old man, it's a rich sophisticated older gentleman with an expensive car, a fancy house, and a lover that's twenty years his junior. TdH is a good summer fragrance but can be pulled off year-round by anyone wishing to do so. Signature scent worthy and affordable enough to stock up on if you like it. Very similar to Omega's Aqua Terra cologne (made by the same person), just without the earthy, soil-like smell to go along with it that adds another dimension.

    Great Juice!

Love it! I get spicy citrus, with a touch of floral. Classy. An excellent summer scent.

Love it but can't wear it

A friend of mine turned me on to this because of our shared love for fragrances that smell like "dirt" - it's woody, like many other woody fragrances, but is distinguished by the "flint" notes that prevent it being too typical. It's great on women. Sadly, some ingredient in it gives me a very itchy nose (I have the same problem with most fragrances containing violet scents). It's so bad I had to give my bottle to my friend (who was delighted, of course).

    One of my favorites

Impeccable blend of citrus and earthiness, on top of a foundation of rich cedar and vetiver. This scent's popularity is well earned.

    Not my thing.

Im more into unisec colognes and this is too spicy for my taste.

    Oh yes, please.

The notes in this didn't seem to impress me much; I usually steer away from everything grapefruity and cedar-y, but I've heard so many great things about it that I sampled it for my husband. WOWza, I'm glad I did! He usually wears the perfumes that are heavy on the cinnamon, saffron, lavender, amber sort of thing. This just smells...clean. Not clean as in "Clean" or "Cool Water" (praise the Lord), but more as if he would come home from working and sweating a day in the woods. This has to be tried out.

    Compliment Getter

This is very much a strong-silent-type masculine cologne. It is sparse and powerful and not too challenging. Honestly, I perceive Terre D'Hermes as three well-balanced notes: grapefruit peel, cedar, and vetiver. It makes me think of mustaches and chopping firewood! Women seem to like this.
