Alkemia Book of Shadows is a biblichor of eldritch books - heavy parchment paper, ancient iron gall ink, crumbling leather bindings, and wafts of rare incenses. It was created by Sharra Lamoureaux.
This is the alcohol free perfume, not an oil. It is also free of parabens, phthalates, PDGs and other unpleasant things. A hand-blended and small batch perfumery using natural essences, ethically rendered accords, and lab-created aroma molecules.
Fragrantica: Absolutely loving this so far- I can smell the paper and the ink and the bindings. There’s a freshness to it at the beginning that makes me want to wear this in hot weather. Incense but no smoke- I’ll revisit this review when the spray has had time to settle. Update- this one does best on pulse points- the incense really sings. I’d be mindful of the ink if it’s oversprayed. Love this scent so much! I hope the leather comes out more as it ages a bit.
Fragrantica: This is one of best ink fragrances I have tried. I have always like the smell of pen in, think a BIC pen, so I wanted to find a fragrance like it. Bruno Fazzolari's Lampblack is a great India ink fragrance. Book of Shadows definitely has that ink smell with leather being the next note that come out. At first my thought was shoe section of a department store. After a while the ink stands out. Interesting scent.
