The center of our universe is raspberries and rum? In a vast dust cloud at the center of the Milky Way there is an abundance of ethyl formate, a simple aliphatic ester found in the smell of rum and raspberries. And to these elements, MiN has added notes from astronauts' descriptions of the smell of their suits when they returned from space walks - freshly welded metal, gun powder, seared steak in an iron pan, burnt almond cookies, charcoal and ozone. A fabulously unusual scent!
This is the alcohol free perfume, not an oil. It is also free of parabens, phthalates, PDGs and other unpleasant things. A hand-blended and small batch perfumery using natural essences, ethically rendered accords, and lab-created aroma molecules.
Fragrantica: "I was very excited to try this and it did not let me down. I'm not usually a fan of fruity scents, but this is the exception. It starts out sharply sour with the fruitiness of the raspberry and a slight sweetness that reminds me of cantaloupe. As it dries though, it gets softer and muskier. If you are familiar with Serge Lutern's Dent de Lait, it's got a similar metallic twinge. Very strange, but amazing nonetheless."
Fragrantica: "Fruity, boozy, sweet and a bit minerally. At first whiff I get the raspberries, rum and burnt almond cookies in that order. As it dries down there's more of the metallic/ozonic."
Fragrantica: "Woahhh! Upon initial application, this smells crazy! Metallic, synthetic, chemical, vaguely sweet, cold. It's not like anything I've ever smelled before. It dries down fairly quickly into a plasticky, ozonic, charred raspberry. But it's so *interesting*! This is an extroverted fragrance for introverts. A strong, long-lasting, decent sillage perfume for robots and cyborgs. Imagine the opposite of (what we typically think of as) sexy. This smells vast and endless and mysterious and cold and mean and weird. I think Alkemia did exactly what they set out to do with this one!"
Reddit: "What a peculiar scent! I got the hot metal, ozone and I can even see the burnt almond cookies, gun powder and charcoal in there. Obviously the raspberries and rum are there - they’re what’s most easily identifiable of any notes in there. It’s a cool concept, but a little hard to wear for me but I’m keeping this one as a curiosity. I’m a big ole science dweeb and having an approximation of what the center of the universe might smell like is baller."
