Amouage Guidance 46 Extrait was released in 2024. Created by Quentin Bisch, it is a more powerful version of the best-selling original Guidance. Notes of rose water, pear, frankincense, bitter almond, hazelnut, pink pepper, rose, saffron, osmanthus, jasmine sambac, ambrette, akigalawood, ambergris, vanilla, labdanum, georgywood, sandalwood and cypriol.
From Amouage - "Enthralling and beguiling, Guidance 46 Exceptional Extrait is a study in light and shade, fragility and strength, subtlety and ostentatiousness - paradoxes brought together with an immediacy that can be achieved only by the art of perfumery. Dosed at a staggering 46% concentration."
Fragrantica - "The difference I'd say is that this has a pronounced nuttier opening with the added bitter almond note & less frankincense. Longevity & projection is about the same as the original to me, however, it's more refined and wears airier which I can tell Quentin lately has been mastering the art in creating loud, but soft perfumes as seen in MAB Tilia. The dry down is just as if not more addictive than the original."
Fragrantica - "All of the fragrance notes seem the same, but in different amounts than the original. I get more pear and fruity sweetness, more amber but less woody notes. Maybe a bit more floral, but that comes and goes. IMO, this leans more feminine. Lasts hours on my clothes and silage is still strong, but it doesn't take over the room quite like the original. This is a safer, more crowd pleasing version of Guidance. I can see the need to own both. I'd wear this to a work or family event and save the OG for date night."
