Ariana Grande Cloud Intense is a deeper version of the original launched in 2021. There are a lot of comparisons of this to Maison Francis Kurkdjian BR540, and they aren't wrong. There are differences, but there is a same quality, a fuzzy addictive warmed musk, and they are also very different. This was a surprising - in a good way - fragrance.
Fragrantica - "I can thankfully smell! I can smell the sweetness and the coconut/lavender topnote! I can finally understand why people like cloud and I’m glad the intense works for me. It’s very sweet, coconut, lavender, and slightly woody/amber. I think the cashmeran and amber really warm the perfume up after the hour mark. It’s almost resinous at the dry down which is very lovely in the cold."
Fragrantica - "This is a lovely sweet musk; starts very strong with creamy coconut and vanilla and settles into a warm and gentle amber with hints of wood. I understand the comparison to BR540, but I actually think it smells more like Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Gentle Fluidity Gold with some sweet fruit and a touch of BR540's darker woods."
Fragrantica - "Cloud intense is very similar to the original but it’s stronger. It feels like a more grown up version of cloud, it’s muskier, deeper, woodier and the ambroxan makes it warmer. I have no issues with the original cloud’s performance, it lasts forever on me and projects really well but i know some people do have issues with it so if cloud doesn’t last on you i definitely think this one will!"
Fragrantica - "I have a decant of Bac 540 and wanted to add that Bac 540 on my skin smells like cheap synthetic masculine cologne and Cloud Intense is better lasting , warmer, sweeter with fluffy cloud notes. So basically Ambroxan iso super in Bac 540 vs refined Ambroxan with Woody praline in Cloud intense. Chemistry is everything . Winner!"
