Description

Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee  was released in 2011, created by Ralf Schwieger.  Notes of lime, cedrat, coriander, jasmine, vetiver, oak moss, Madagascar vanilla, oak wood and amber.  A rich, long-lasting vanilla scent completely infused with incense notes.

Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee Reviews

From EAUMG - "Vanille Insensée opens up as  vanilla. It’s creamy and dreamy but there is something else there. That something reminds me of the spicy freshness of grated carrots. There’s some very faint, understated citrus. The vanilla gets creamier but never overly sweet and juvenile. The dry-down of Insensée Cologne is very clean. It reminds me of “vanilla towels fresh from the dryer”. That sounds harsh in “perfumese” but I don’t mean it that way. These vanilla dryer towels are what I like about Vanille Insensée. I’m taking it that this is sweetened “modern” woods and white musk. Vanille Insensée smells very, very modern. Very “now”."

From Basenotes - "This is lovely. My association with vanilla is that it's usually sweet and gourmand, but this is darker, more like smelling an actual vanilla bean, maybe with some dark rum. Subtle, not intense."

From Bois de Jasmin - "I love the playfulness of Vanille Insensée, which cannot decide whether it wants to be a vanilla or an amber, and while oscillating between luscious sweetness and dark richness, it manages to beguile with its complex, nuanced character. The contrasted nature of this fragrance created by perfumer Ralf Schwieger for Atelier Cologne not only makes it exciting to wear, but also gives it a beautiful signature."

    Pretty dry vanilla

This has turned me on to vanilla perfumes, which I did not think I like. It's pretty much one note on me, just a nice dry vanilla with an extra warm and slightly bright edge, and I really like it. It seems like it will be office safe--not too much sillage or projection. It's comforting and crave-able. I like it when I am going to bed as a scent to help me relax, and to give me a little hug when I am doing a tough work project. Last about 2-3 hours as a skin scent on me.

    Vanilla for grownups

At first, this fragrance reminded me of Encounter by Victoria's Secret (now discontinued, like all my other VS favorites, grrrr). But when I compared the two, I found Vanille Insensee much drier and far less sweet. If Victoria's Secret had ever made a unisex version of Encounter, I think it would have smelled very much like this. Bottom line: Not a girly or gourmand vanilla by any stretch of the imagination, but instead a complex, sexy, grownup vanilla that would smell great on a woman or a man.

    Rich, but not too sweet

Nice vanilla fragrance! The incense undertones keep it from being too dessert-like. It won't give you a headache. Definitely will make someone want to snuggle up and breath in your delicious scent. The spiciness makes it unisex too.
