Straight out of college in New York, Ford dreamed of being an innovative fashion designer. So, he did all he could to get into the industry. He called designer Cathy Hardwick every day for over a month just to get an interview.
It was worth it: Ford got the job and it was just the start of his brilliant career, which included work for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, as an award-winning creative director.
In 2004, he created his own brand (eponymously named Tom Ford) and has ever since designed highly sought after perfumes, clothing, eyewear, and make-up.
