By Kilian Light My Fire is a unisex amber woody scent.
By Kilian launched the Addictive State of Mind collection in the fall of 2014 with three fragrances. Light my Fire has notes of patchouli, cumin, honey, birch and tonka bean. Centered around the best cigar tobacco, the perfume skips over the normal top notes and heads for a tobacco, honey and cumin skankfest (the best kind!) over a bed of hay, patchouli and vetiver. Nothing shy about this tobacco scent, it reeks of dark nights and sensual pleasures behind the rich tobacco-filled room.
Kilian Hennessy launched By Kilian in 2007. Yup, the Cognac Hennessy, grandson to the founder of Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton Group, he followed his interest in scent, writing his thesis on the semantics of odors. After spending time with leading perfumers, he launched By Kilian with the Collection L'oeuvre Noire (Black Masterpiece) series. There are now 10 fragrances in that series. The over-the-top marketing copy drew a lot of criticism in the early part of his launch, but the gorgeous packaging - black lacquer boxes and black bottles - started to win us over, as did the artistry of the fragrances. Collection Arabian Nights was launched in 2009, Asian Tales in 2012, In the Garden of Good & Evil in 2012 and In the Addictive State of Mind in 2014.
Fragrantica: "Light My Fire By Kilian strikes the odd balance of calling to mind the spicy, smoky ignition of a fire while simultaneously being a bright, sweet tobacco scent in its own right. I get some of the green notes mainly at the top, and it settles into more of a sweet tobacco in the heart and dry down."
Fragrantica: "This fragrance will grow on you over time and should get extra attention for its natural tobacco dry-down note -- and for not quite smelling like anything else."
