Description

Byredo Gypsy Water Absolu was launched in 2026, a richer version of the iconic original.  This was created by Jerome Epinette with notes of black pepper, bergamot, pine needles, incense, orris butter, carrot seeds, vanilla, ambroxan and white suede.  This is an absolu

From the brand - "Inspired by the beauty of life in motion, the Gypsy Water Absolu de Parfum pays tribute to the raw freedom of impermanence, capturing the quiet strength that emerges along journeys without destination. The Absolu de Parfum amplifies the fragrance's signature warm, woody dimension, revealing unexpected and uniquely compelling spicy facets. Black pepper introduces a spicy contrast to sparkling bergamot and aromatic pine needles. At the heart, creamy orris butter is amplified by carrot seed for earthy warmth, while incense absolute adds smoky diffusion. At the base, vanilla absolute, white suede and ambroxan envelop the senses in a lingering amber-woody sillage."

Founded in 2006 in Sweden Byredo perfume's creator Ben Gorham (former basketball player) wanted to create perfumes of quality while keeping their production in Sweden.  Gorham had been fascinated with fragrance much of his life. When he meet Pierre Wulff, a perfumer, Byredo came into being.  Currently Gorham works with Olivia Giacobetti and Jerome Epinette to create his line of perfumes.

Byredo Gypsy Water Absolu Reviews

Fragrantica - "There is an incense-vanilla pairing here that may remind some people of YSL Babycat, though this smells nothing like it overall. The resemblance is more about the combination than the execution, and it only really stands out if you’re familiar with that note pairing. Overall, this feels like the moodier, more grown-up sibling...beautifully done, just not as effortless or universal as the original. Definitely be patient and sample first. "
