Description

Byredo Sundazed is a beautiful unisex citrus. Launched in 2019, the perfumer is Jerome Epinette.  Notes of Mandarin orange, lemon, neroli, jasmine Sambac, cotton candy and white musk. This is summer in a bottle.

Founded in 2006 in Sweden Byredo perfume's creator Ben Gorham (former basketball player) wanted to create perfumes of quality while keeping their production in Sweden. Gorham had been fascinated with fragrance much of his life. When he meet Pierre Wulff, a perfumer, Byredo came into being.

Byredo Sundazed Reviews

Colognoisseur - "If you’ve lived on either coast of the US, you have a boardwalk somewhere near you. Situated at the top of a strand of beach it has souvenir shops, arcades, and food places on one side. The beach and the ocean on the other side. I have spent many a summer day walking the boardwalk with a snow-cone, ice cream cone, or some other sweet confection in my hand as the sun shone overhead. I hadn’t thought a lot about it, but this is an ideal milieu for the current trend of transparent floral gourmands. It looks like Byredo Sundazed is going to tread the boards first. It is a simple set of accords. On top is the sunshine as represented by citrus. Jerome Epinette (the perfumer who created Sundazed) uses primarily lemon given some juicy sweetness with mandarin. The lemon is that sun in a clear blue sky. The mandarin is the set-up for the sweet to follow. That comes in a heart accord of jasmine and neroli. The neroli picks up on the citrus in the top while the jasmine provides the bulk of the flower sweetness. What is also nice about this heart accord is the very subtle presence of the natural indoles present in the flowers. They give that tiny nod to sweaty skin. Then we get to the base where cotton candy is paired with white musks to give that sun-tanned skin effect. Sundazed is one of the first of the transparent floral gourmands to really engage me. I’ve thought Byredo could excel in this type of fragrance. With a mid-summer trip to the boardwalk Sundazed shows I was correct."

Basenotes - "This is Summer. Not a Summer citrus with sel de mer along a natural coastline, not a fresh and raw vetiver while enjoying a spritzer on the piazza, and it’s certainly not an ozonic aquatic of the virile XY chromosome set. This is a Summer scent reminding us of ice cream after swimming lessons at the pool. It’s Summer braking for lemonade while our parents grabbed espressos on our vacation. It’s a Summer of a sort of uplifting yet ethereal memory. But this is not a child’s Summer (forgive my own references) as the evolution of Sundazed became something quite unexpected, very intriguing, inviting, highly- wearable, and, yes, sophisticated. Byredo’s alignment with memory is an undeniable part of this experience."

Fragrantica - "Sundayzed is sweeter and softer and has a gourmand edge. It’s fresh ,summery but warm. I just love it. Great release."

    Dreamsicle/Creamsicle In A Bottle

Who knew I'd been missing out on a fab fragrance house named Byredo? This is my second sample of a Byredo EDP, and I'm in love again. What's even stranger, I'm not a citrusy type of girl. Never liked citrus scents, but OMGoodness, Byredo has done it right. Top notes are Mandarin Orange and Californian Lemon; middle notes are Neroli and Jasmine Sambac; and, base notes are Cotton Candy and White Musk. Immediately, you experience citrus. It's a real combo of orange and lemon. They're not fighting each other; they're just blending together harmoniously. About 30-60 minutes into the dab, comes the lush sweetness of jasmine...but not too flowery. Later arrives the cotton candy and skin musk. IMO it's not an oooey-gooey sweetness. It's a creamy lusciousness for your olfactory sense. It reminds me of bygone summer fun sitting on the back porch on a hot afternoon enjoying a Dreamsicle/Creamsicle ice cream bar that was wrapped in orange sherbet. If you've never had one, it's a true delicacy, just as Byredo's Sundazed. It's fairly long-lasting, skin sillage, and FB worthy.
