Caron L'anarchiste
Great name. Short duration. Pickle top note. It has a pleasant weak non-descript heart note.
Caron L'Anarchiste was launched at the millenium, 2000, created by Richard Fraysse. A bit of a shape-shifter scent, there's some dispute about what notes are actually in it, but probably cinnamon, musk, mint, tobacco, mandarin and some spices. What it is not -- boring.
From Basenotes - "to me l’Anarchiste brings to mind an apple pie being cut into with a sharp steel Sabatier knife, scratching into the metal pie tin as it goes—teeth on edge, mouth watering. Might be just the thing to wear for the coming holiday season."
From Basenotes - "Talk about 'different' and 'off', L'Anarchiste is it! Funeral and wedding at the same time. Rough and gentle, warm and cold, loud and silent, happy and sad, sane and mad."
From Now Smell This - "One of my favorite of all of Caron’s masterpieces, this offering from 2000 should be a must try for anyone in love with Caron’s ability to contrast and harmonize notes. Opening with a tangy citrus aroma, the fragrance quickly reveals a warm, almost nutty heart of woods while a faint breath of green cedar leaves and fresh orange blossom accents the midnotes. L’Anarchiste then progresses into a rich musk and creates an impressive sillage with good lasting power."
