Chapel Factory Hermit Coat is an amber fragrance created by Anais Biguine in 2021, paying tribute to the hermit monks wrapped in their coats smelling of smoke, amber and ashes. Released in 2021, it has notes of heliotrope, ash, elemi, olibanum, balsam fir, rose, ambroxan, smoke, musk and amber. Chapel Factory Hermit Coat is an eau de parfum, edp.
From the brand - "A dark ashes clothes with an eremitic look.
As a hermit coat, amber, balm and smoke cover fir balsam.
A captivating fragrance with it's powerful vocation of the scent of roaming incense."
Fragrantica - "I blind bought this, and I have no regrets. It is Incense heavy, which I was expecting, as that is the theme of the brand. It is dark and slightly sweet. It does not smell like my other perfumes at all. The lavender and Heliotrope on top is brilliant."
Fragrantica - "Smoky candlewax lightened by heliotrope, cold stone walls of an abandoned church. Thankfully very light ash or rose. Easy to appreciate, and more approachable than Relique D'Amour by Oriza L. Legrand which also has an old church vibe, and more hopeful than other popular church incense fragrances like Avignon which overdose on cedar."
Fragrantica - "Lovely smoke and ash, and not as heavy as I was expecting. Where Heresy smells like the monk who works in the church, refilling the thuribles and cleaning up candlewax (keeping the doors open for a nice breeze in the summer), Hermit Coat picks roses from the Abbot's garden and makes incense from them."
